I have accepted a job position in Gladstone and will be doing fly in fly out work but I may be gone for 2 to 4 weeks at a time.
As most of you know I have quite a number and selection of plants which takes alot of effort to care for even for an avid gardener like myself.
Edward has said he would like to keep our garden going while I am away but there is just to much for him to care for on his own.
I have offered some plants to Warren Goodlet for…

Are you attending the Jimboomba Community Garden Open Day? We are looking for members of Logan Food Gardeners to rally together to make a team to compete in the lasagne bed (no dig garden) building contest being held at 11am.
We can enter 2 teams of 4 people and will need to possibly have extra people on standby should they not be able to make it

I have had such success with my planting that I have more seedlings than I know what to do with so I am giving some away.
I have a few of many varieties of chilli and some Golden Eggplant (about 15) and pak choy and probably some other stuff too but you will have come to check out what I have or ask for something in particular that you are looking for and I can check my lists
I also have an avocado tree about 20/30cm tall and a Lychee Tree that I can…

While I was at the LFG community crop swap I noticed something that made me a little sad. I noticed that apart from children 10 and under I was quite possibly the youngest person at the event and that most people were 10, 20 and 30+ years older than me.
Where are all the "young people". It makes me sad that people my age are missing out on all the benefits and joys of having a garden because it Too hard or they have better things to do with their time.
In the…

I recomend that anyone that uses peat pellets and jiffy pots to raise seedlings check out seller tranquil_garden on ebay. I have been using their pellets and pots for some time now and i now have a 97% success rate up from 70% using other brands.
I have seedlings shoot up 3 to 7 days after planting when it should take 3 weeks. I would love for others to try these pellets to see if they are getting the same results as I am.
Gary also sells plastic pots and…

Does anyone know any experts on fruit trees? Particularly peaches? my Aunt has planted a grafted bare-root Okee Dokee peach/nectarine last winter.
- Is it necessary to prune off all growth/watersprouts under the height of the nectarine graft in order to encourage growth above the graft?
- Re winter pruning, when exactly should this be done? I believe it's supposed to be after leaf fall but before flowering. But then aren't you just pruning…
