LFG Event: Christmas Brunch / Secret Santa at Logan Reserve

December 2, 2018 from 8am to 11:30am
Please bring along a plate of food to share. There will also be a secret santa/raffle table.  This has become a bit of a Christmas tradition. Everyone who brings along a gift to contribute to this table will go home with something new for themselves.  Please don't wrap the gifts, as people choose from the table what they want. In previous years people have brought along unusual plants, cookbooks, tools, really anything you think a fellow gardener may be interested in. Hope to see you there.See More

I love that I can create something of value for little or no money.  I love that my garden and my produce inspires other people to grow themselves.  I love that my…See More

LFG Event: Gardening for Lazy Slobs at Shaker Park

July 1, 2018 from 9am to 11am
Marylin is welcoming us to her garden in July.  She lives on a battlexe or easement block so she doesn't have a front yard and can use her full quarter acre for foraging.  From Marylin"I’m not passionate about any particular style of gardening but have leaned heavily towards practical permaculture since reading Bill Mollison's first book in the 1970s. The garden is roughly divided into two zones, orchard and veggies, but my only livestock is a top bar beehive and a collection of visiting wild…See More

"HI Marilyn, I have heard the one in the 2nd and 3rd photo being called a 'Castor Oil' plant. A noxious weed. Often grows beside rivers or creeks. I can't guarantee that definition."

What weed?

Posted on August 12, 2017 at 0:00 1 Comment

Hi, I'm new here so hope this the right place to ask this

can anyone identify these plants please.  Sorry photos have ended up out of order and in the middle of the post.  Sigh.  another new thing to master.

I'm assuming they are weeds since they grow amazingly well and I don't remember planting them.
