LFG Event: Annual Birthday Party and garden visit at Tanah Merah

August 5, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm
You will know if you have seen Lyn's place before, that it is really impressive and worth seeing.  Amazingly it seems to get better every year, so it is worth coming even if you have seen it before. Here is what she has to say about it:I love my garden so much.  I love the food I harvest and feed to my family and give to my friends. I love that I can create something of value for little or no money.  I love that my garden and my produce inspires other people to grow themselves.  I love that my…See More

LFG Event: Gardening for Lazy Slobs at Shaker Park

July 1, 2018 from 9am to 11am
Marylin is welcoming us to her garden in July.  She lives on a battlexe or easement block so she doesn't have a front yard and can use her full quarter acre for foraging.  From Marylin"I’m not passionate about any particular style of gardening but have leaned heavily towards practical permaculture since reading Bill Mollison's first book in the 1970s. The garden is roughly divided into two zones, orchard and veggies, but my only livestock is a top bar beehive and a collection of visiting wild…See More

LFG Event: Healthy fruit tree workshop/ information session with George Allen at Jimboomba

June 10, 2018 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Despite an abundance of fruit trees, they are not enjoying an abundance of fruit and they would like to understand why. They are growing (or not growing!!) Lemons, Limes, Oranges, Mandarins, FingerLimes, Grapes, Passionfruit, Dragon…See More

About Me
We rent so have limited ability to grow much other than in pots. We're allowed to put some plants in a small area of the backyard but without a fence around it (which comes with its own issues) the dog runs over the top of it when she 'defends' the yard from the children next door (happily, but noisily, playing in their own yard).
Skills and/or knowledge I would like to share
We intend to build on a hillside lot we own in Logan Village sometime before we die (still waiting on the Building Approval etc.) When that is done, we'll be looking to plant local native food plants, particularly in the area outside the building envelope.
