About Me
I've been establishing a garden for five years now in Jimboomba. Whilst a dream of being self sufficient still aludes me, I continue to work alongside weather patterns and my time poor gardening challenges....Drought of 2012/2013 summer saw almost all being lost including my much beloved healing herbal garden, and native plantings. Then came the flooding rains from Jan-April and now sees the garden once again coming to life.........
Time poor challenges sees the outdoor pizza oven, solar cooker, and mud bricks still awaiting to be built!!!

Hi Karen, looks like I might not make it to Bromelton House this weekend to see Steve and possibly get some poly boxes.  But next time we are going to the same open garden if I can have 2 please - thank you.

Quite true Karen,  and I do use glass cover for things like seedling tomatoes. However, as I tend to specialize in growing larger cuttings and grafting seedling fruit trees, there is often a need for greater height in order to facilitate propogation and this is where the plastic greenhouse idea tends to work the best.

Hi Karen

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not is a hurry for the boxes so the Xmas lunch is fine, I do have two Xmas parties the day before so hence the "Might" attend on the LFG site.

Yes wouldn't it be great if Australia was more like Cuba, they are way ahead.

Hi Karen, Do you have polystyrene boxes ro knwo who does, I am after probably just one to add a mezzanine to my worm farm, size is 13" x 19" or 33cm x 48cm.

Just picked up the foam boxes thanks Karen. They are nice & deep, so I think I will stick the lids on, cut in half depthwise and get two planter boxes out of each. They will still be deep enough that they won't dry out too quickly. I'm planning on a salad mix box each for the 'kids' families as well as a butter lettuce box each ...grow them here and take it to them when they are ready to eat .... so you've given me enough to keep them rotating ...it's appreciated muchly !!
