I'm new to Queensland, so I'm still learning how to garden in a sub-tropical region. Much more rewarding than gardening in Melbourne!
I keep chooks for eggs, entertainment and lots of lovely chook manure for my vegie gardens. I have raised beds and fruit trees in pots as our soil in Jimboomba is just like concrete. I have been keeping worm farms for many years to help feed my vegies.
I have been a weaver, spinner and eco-dyer for many years and now I am retired I'm able to spend more time on these pursuits, as well as my garden. I exhibit my work every year at various venues during the Scenic Rim Open Studios and also at Beaudesert Arts and Information Centre. I'm a member of the Tamborine Mountain Weavers, Southside Spinners and Weavers group, and the Queensland Spinners, Weavers & Fibre Artists.
Skills and/or knowledge I would like to share
I am happy to share information on spinning and weaving groups in the area, but I definitely do not teach.
