LFG Birthday Party and cooking demo @ LFG President, Lyn Buffett's, place at Tanah Merah

August 18, 2019 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm
... abundance :)That is how it feels at my place, these days.  Everything is sufficiently watered; the soil is full of organic matter and brimming with life; and the plants are flourishing.  This autumn/winter season has been wonderful for the garden with frequent rain and mild temps.  I admit that the summer was awful and so I let the garden go until the weather cooled down.  The main thing I have done since last year is to turn my messy piles of prunings into amazingly neat and useful rows of…See More

LFG Event: Canungra Valley Tropicals at Canungra

April 13, 2019 from 9am to 12pm
My family and I moved up from Victoria several years ago, hoping to find a few acres to be able to have some chooks and rooster. So we found this beautiful 3 acres in the valley of the Gold coast hinterlands. My husband Rosco and 2 beautiful girls help me run a little hobby plant nursery. I love my intensive tropical ornamental garden, along with an acre of crops and various fruit trees plants. I have laced Wyandotte chooks, rare Aylesbury ducks and the amazing geese, all have their own play…See More

June 10, 2018 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm

He will be conducting a fruit tree workshop at Karen & Stephens permaculture garden.Karen and Stephen live on a 1 and 1/4 acre block in Jimboomba. Despite an abundance of fruit trees, they are not enjoying an abundance of fruit and they would like to understand why. They are growing (or not growing!!) Lemons, Limes, Oranges, Mandarins, FingerLimes, Grapes, Passionfruit, Dragon…See More

About Me
I'm new to Queensland, so I'm still learning how to garden in a sub-tropical region. Much more rewarding than gardening in Melbourne!

I keep chooks for eggs, entertainment and lots of lovely chook manure for my vegie gardens. I have raised beds and fruit trees in pots as our soil in Jimboomba is just like concrete. I have been keeping worm farms for many years to help feed my vegies.

I have been a weaver, spinner and eco-dyer for many years and now I am retired I'm able to spend more time on these pursuits, as well as my garden. I exhibit my work every year at various venues during the Scenic Rim Open Studios and also at Beaudesert Arts and Information Centre. I'm a member of the Tamborine Mountain Weavers, Southside Spinners and Weavers group, and the Queensland Spinners, Weavers & Fibre Artists.
Skills and/or knowledge I would like to share
Worm farming
I am happy to share information on spinning and weaving groups in the area, but I definitely do not teach.
