Spurtopia Homestead is aiming to be self-sufficient using Permaculture design for food production, close to water sufficiency and nearly waste free and showcase their home for people to come and be inspired. They have extensive vegetable garden, beehives, free range chickens and worm farms.
Applying a clever design, Roman’s ideas, inventions and engineering, including using readily available materials, make the place outstanding with continuous improvements. They passionately like to share practical and inexpensive ideas for sustainable living.
Their home production is in a full swing, making yoghurt, kefir, kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, sourdough bread, raw cakes, home brew beer, ginger beer, lemonade and absolutely delicious mead from their honey.
On a day to day basis they do natural parenting and home education of their two daughters. They are establishing a local community in their neighbourhood so they can share their experience and produce which is starting some very nice relationships.
Please bring along:
- a plate of food to share for morning tea
- any excess produce you would like to swap
- a hat if it's fine
- a small folding chair
- a mug and plate
There will be a contribution box at the event and your contribution of between $3 and $5 per person will help Logan Food Gardeners' Inc. to cover its costs.
Kids under supervision and partners are welcome.
