Event Description

Happy New Food Gardening Year!

Come and join your like-minded food gardening friends for a garden tour, cuppa tea and a chat, hosted by Angie Hill.

This is a typical sized suburban back yard, but is aything but typical. Angie has only been here for three years, but has created something special already.

The garden starts in the driveway with citrus trees in pots. As you progress toward the back yard, your eyes are drawn to a yellow guava and Loquart tree.

Upon entering the backyard, your senses are overwhelmed by an eclectic garden with an amazing variety of fruit trees, flowering plants, Asian greens and herbs.

For anyone with a typical suburban backyard who is thinking that it's too small or doesn't know where to start, this garden is a MUST SEE.

Please remember to bring along:

a plate of food to share, for morning tea
your own folding chair and a mug;
your give-away table contributions: labelled seeds, seedlings, plant material, garden related goods: biochar, composting worms, excess produce etc;
an umbrella if it is raining HOPEFULLY (or hat to keep the sun off).

Your contribution of between $3 and $5 per person helps Logan Food Gardeners Inc to cover its costs.

Please RSVP

Partners and children are welcome, but please do not bring dogs or other pets to events, except where prior approval has been given by the events committee.

Comment by Louise Staunton on January 17, 2015 at 22:08: Hi Julie, as Liz said, an interest in food gardening is all that is required , and if the crop swaps are not suitable then the Garden visits would be as you can maintain a connection to like minders :-) Always welcome at crop swap with your gold coins. and if you really want to grow food still, you could perhaps pair up with someone who has space to offer, we could put the word out to see whats available :-)
