Event Description

Simone has opened her property to us and I think we are in for a treat. She has electric bikes and all sorts of other machines to fascinate us.

Also there will be a presentation on Turmeric from a Springbrook Turmeric grower.  the talk is called We love turmeric and sharing knowledge about this lovely plant and will cover the following:

  • how to grow turmeric
  • why “not all turmerics are equal” and why there is so so much confusion
  • using your food as medicine
  • the clinical and research evidence for using turmeric in your everyday life
  • understanding and sharing your experiences using turmeric

Please bring:

  • a plate of food to share for afternoon tea
  • your own plate, mug and a chair
  • an umbrella, just in case of rain
  • things to share on the giveaway table: seeds, seedlings or plant material of some kind.

Crop Swap: Come along and get yourself some healthy home grown food. You can trade what you have or buy what you want with cash.

When you join us for the Logan Reserve Crop Swap please bring:

  • your home grown produce, home made pickles or preserves
  • plants, other food gardening related items
  • or bake up a storm to make a swap/trade.
  • What you need to know:

You will be trading your home grown produce directly with each other. There will be no middle man. You can be sure to get exactly what you want for your produce.

Be brave and proud of what you bring. Ask for what you want, but be prepared to haggle.

Items can be traded or can be bought with money.
Be prompt and aim to stay for at least an hour or until your produce has gone. If you turn up late your trading partners may have gone already.

Items that can be traded include:

  • home grown or home-made food items
  • items or things food gardeners will value: gardening books, magazines, preserving bottles, bamboo stakes, bio char, seeds, cuttings, seedlings.

There will be a contribution box at the event.

A contribution of between $3 and $5 per person helps Logan Food Gardeners to cover its costs.

Kids and partners are welcome. Children must stay with you or you must be watching them at all times.

I apologise, but the turmeric talk will not be on tomorrow. We will still learn about electric vehicles and do some trading

Hi Michele, next year we are in the progress of planning a trip to the tumeric farm. So look out for next years agenda.

Hi Simone, we are very interested in both the turmeric and the electric machines.

However , because of Father's Day family commitments, we are unable to attend.

Is there any possibility of repeating this one another time?

Thanking you,

Michele and Chris
