In addition to our normal monthly weekend garden visit, this month we are having an extra get together on a weekday. Come along next Thursday 5 July for some afternoon tea and a look at Denise and Ray's lush but compact garden.
This is what Denise and Ray have said about their place.
We will be meeting in our pergola and we have already informed our fourteen-year-old dog, Huggy,(border collie) that he will have to move aside and make room for visitors because previously he always thought the pergola was a flyover for his dog house. Everyone is welcome to come for a chit-chat and a cuppa. Our vegetable garden has easy access because its on a one metre high retaining wall. We just love the sorrell. It was overhauled earlier this year, anything that wasn’t edible was removed except the iris’. We recently put in two trellis’ and used the no dig garden system for the main one. We have a tumbler style barrel composter which we have used for years. We used to grow our own wheatgrass for juicing and the composting made the most delightful compost. We have a few fruit trees in pots, but they are only babies at the moment. We don’t know how one arranges for a rain - free day. Should we try begging, bribing or praying? Although, if raining there is plenty of room undercover. Denise and Raymond
Denise and Ray's garden is in Tanah Merah.
