Dean and Helen Bryant are Biodynamic blueberry growers, situated at Peachester on the Sunshine Coast (near Australia Zoo).
In 9 years of growing they have risen the standard of blueberry production using biodynamic processes and consistently rate above average on the Brix scale.
Dean and Helen are opening up their property for the day on November 22, 2014.
Dean is a wealth of knowledge and passionate about his processes. He is the QLD rep for the growers association and has been instrumental in inspriring other growers in Australia to successfully transfer over to Biodynamic farming.
This is a field trip open to all members and guests.
Transport costs and travel times are a consideration for some. You may wish to make a weekend of it and stay over locally.
Carpooling is encouraged and offers and interest should be shared here.
I think we will aim to meet at a point en route, perhaps a coffee stop / cafe, then travel together from there.

Dean not only has a wealth of knowledge, he is also very willing to share. The Brix readings on Dean's Blueberries is at the very top of the scale and three times what the industry strives to achieve. This is proof that he must be doing something right, and that something is to grow healthy soil, which in turn grows healthy plants (an art we have lost with modern agriculture and one we simply MUST relearn)
It was so nice to finally taste a "real" Blueberry.
Hi Gaill, no worries Thankyou.
It was great Lyn, Dean is so passionate about feeding the soil which feeds your plants. He is happy to have a chat about things and is a great guy and great family.
We tasted blueberries straight from the plant and got to see how he does the brix teting and looked through the refractometer which measures it. pretty cool :-)
How was the field trip today?
Hi Louise
Sorry I didn't make it today. I did send a quick cancellation RSVP last night but wasn't sure if you received it. We had a sudden change of plans late yesterday. Hope you all enjoyed the tour and maybe we can make it along to the next one.
Kind regards
Gaill
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Caboolture BP servo meeting point at 8am , or see you at the farm by 930am. Louise
Shirley... sorry I should have said Saturday! Hope to see you there
Kathryn Victoria, I think Julie Graham is looking for a ride from the Daisy Hill area. Would this be suitable for you?
