Our August Garden Visit will be at Jo Smith's place in Jimboomba.  Jo has said this about the visit:

I'm looking forward to welcoming you to our property for the August garden visit.  We have 6 acres with a couple of sheep (Dorper ewes and Wiltshire ram), a couple of chooks and a large vegie garden based on Linda Woodrow's book The Permaculture Home Garden (visit Linda's blog at wwww.witcheskitchen.com.au).  The garden is a constant work in progress and ebbs and flows dependent on my time, energy and enthusiasm.  For the size of it I should be able to supply half the street with home grown produce instead I feed a lot of it to the sheep and chooks.  Suggestions for improvement are most welcome.

The speaker is Eddie Elson, of Elson Apiaries.  Eddie will be talking about beekeeping and the importance of bees in gardens.  Eddie is also bring honey for sale - 500g $4.00, 1kg $6.00 and 3kg $16.00

There is plenty of parking onsite.  Kids and partners welcome.  Please wear enclosed shoes - the garden is not foot friendly.

Please bring along:

• things to share:
  • excess produce, seeds, seedlings, plant material,
  • something to eat for afternoon tea and
• a chair to sit on.
• Umbrella if it is raining

The visit will be on rain hail or shine, as there is a covered area if it is wet.  

In the last financial year LFG ran at a $377 loss.  It would be great if we could break even this year, or even have a surplus which we could use to purchase promotional material or other things for the group.  To help cover these costs there will be a donation box on the giveaway table, please bring along a few dollars to contribute.
